The story behind the mission

I had to fight to become the person I am today.

I wasn't always someone people believed in. And truthfully, I didn't give them many reasons to. I made mistakes, wasted opportunities, and let down people who just wanted to see me succeed. For a long time, I was standing in my own way. But eventually I realized, nobody was going to change my life for me. If I wanted a different future, I had to start making different choices.

But my story didn't end there. Step by step, I fought my way out, rebuilt my life, and found success in freight brokerage. Along the way I learned something bigger than business: the money isn't what matters most.

What matters is helping someone else believe that their story isn't over either.

1Step 4ward carries a family name; Ward; and a belief I want to share with the world: keep on keeping on.

Why I'm here

The world may not see you,
but I see you.

My vision reaches far beyond my own neighborhood. I can pull into a gas station, grab a bottle of water, and get on with my day without thinking twice. Meanwhile, somewhere in the world, a parent might spend hours walking just to bring water home to their family. Same world. Two completely different realities. And that doesn't sit right with me. I've worked hard to build a better life for myself, but what good is that if I never use it to help somebody else? I don't expect to change the whole world overnight. I just know I can start somewhere; and I refuse to sit around waiting for somebody else to take that first step. From helping one person rebuild to helping entire communities access opportunity, I want every step forward to reach farther than the last.
